R ESOLUTION N O. 2020-347
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING P OLICE D EPARTMENT P OLICY 606
WHICH R EGULATES THE U SE OF U NMANNED A ERIAL S YSTEMS
WHEREAS, effective August 1, 2020, State Statutes 626.19 and 13.82 were amended concerning
guidelines for the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS); and
WHEREAS, these amendments to State Statutes were related to storage, retrieval, and dissemination
of all images and data captured by a UAS; and
WHEREAS, the new provisions also require a public hearing be held prior to purchasing or using an
UAV; and
WHEREAS, Police Department Policy 606 regulates the use of UAS.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that Police Department Policy 606 is approved.
