Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a r 1 meeting of

RESOLUTION NO, 78-686
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PURCHASE AGREEMENT
FOR ACQUISITION OF THE OAKWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PLAYFIELD SITE
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has previously adopted a preliminary design concept
for a playfield to be located at the Oakwood Elementary School site, and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth desires to purchase approximately 17.93 acres of
the land of the Oakwood Elementary School site for such community playfield, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Superintendent of the Wayzata School District
No. 284 have negotiated an agreement by the terms of which the City could acquire
said lands for community playfield purposes, and
WHEREAS, the playfield concept designs are acceptable to both parties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,

MINNESOTA that the purchase agreent submitted to this Council by the City Manager
providing for the acquisition of approximately 17.93 acres of land at the Oakwood
Elementary School for community playfield purposes be and the same is hereby
approved.
AND FURTHER that the Mayor and Manager are hereby authorized and directed to
execute said agreement on behalf of the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the purchase price of the parkland shall be $1,400
per acre x the acreage of the site which is estimated at 17.93 acres and that
such sums be appropriated from the Park Dedication Fund/Community Parks-Playfields
Account (205-000-371.02).
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Nqils and upon vote being taken thereon, the
