Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City
Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, wasfield on t 3rd day of

Councilmember Neils introduced the following Resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 78-658
NOTIFYING CITY OF MINNEAPOLIS OF FUTURE WATER & SEWER
AREA ASSESSMENTS ON MINNEAPOLIS WORKHOUSE PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the City of Minneapolis owns the property commonly referred to as
the Minneapolis Workhouse comprising an area of approximately 473.8 acres, and
WHEREAS, the City of Minneapolis has expressed interest in disposing of its
property for development and/or to the County of Hennepin for correctional
facility purposes, and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has previously installed public improvements
which benefit portions of the Workhouse property, which assessments were
levied between.1966 and 1972, and
WHEREAS, the City of Minneapolis in 1974 and 1975 paid to the City of Plymouth
$738,110.84 for said special assessments, and
WHEREAS, the City has determined that additional acreage of the Minneapolis
Workhouse property has yet to be assessed for sanitary sewer and water area
charges and that prospective purchasers of the property should be aware of
said future assessments;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that the City Manager be directed to correspond with
the Mayor and Council of the City of Minneapolis informing them that,according
to the City of Plymouth's calculations, additional sanitary sewer area asse$s-
ments are yet to be collected on 138.59 acres and water area assessments on
432.49 acres of the Minneapolis Workhouse property.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager, in his letter, recommend that
the City of Minneapolis disclose these future assessments to prospective
purchasers of the Minneapolis Workhouse property.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded
by Councilmember Seibold , and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Hunt, Councilmembers Hoyt, Neils.,
Seibold and Spaeth
The following voted against or abstained: None
Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
