Councilmember Neils introduced the following Resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 78-464
DESIGNATING CALVIN HAWKINSON AS LOCAL AGENT IN APPLICATION
FOR FEDERAL EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FUNDS
WHEREAS, the President has declared Hennepin County a disaster area due to the
damage to public and private property as a result of the rainfalls between June
25 and July 7, 1978, and
WHEREAS, this designation makes Plymouth eligible for Federal Emergency Assistance
Funds for the restoration of damaged public property and facilities, and
WHEREAS, a local agent for the City must be designated on the application for funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that Calvin Hawkinson, Chief of Police, is hereby authorized to execute
for and in behalf of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, a public entity established
under the laws of the State of Minnesota, this application for Federal Disaster
Assistance and to file it in the appropriate State office for the purpose of
obtaining certain Federal financial assistance under the Disaster Relief Act
(Public Law 288, 93rd Congress) or otherwise available from the President's
Disaster Relief Funf.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Plymouth hereby authorizes its agent to
provide to the State and to the Federal Disaster Assistance Administration (FDAA),
Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for all matters pertaining to
such Federal disaster assistance the assurances and agreements printed thereon.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Seibold , and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following vo e n favor thereof; Actina Mayor Soaeth. Councilmembers Hovt_
