Neils and Seibold The following members were absent: Mayor Hunt Councilmember Neils introduced the following Resolution and moved Its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 78-447 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING WATER QUALITY EFFORTS OF BASSETT CREEK FLOOD CONTROL COMMISSION AND RECOMMENDING COOPERATIVE FISCAL SUPPORT FROM COUNTY AND STATE WATER QUALITY MANAGEMENT AGENCIES WHEREAS, representatives of Bassett Creek Flood Control Commission have presented a report to the Plymouth City Council regarding water quality management in Medicine Lake and other water bodies within the Bassett Creek Flood Control Area, and WHEREAS, water bodies within the Bassett Creek Flood Plain are of regional significance by virtue of the recreational, ecological and aesthetic re- sources, they make available to the residents of the Metropolitan area, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plymouth whole-heartedly endorses water quality monitoring and management to maintain the ecological integrity of Medicine Lake. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does support the Bassett Creek Flood Control Commission in its water quality monitoring and management activities, AND FURTHER, strongly recommends that other County andState agencies such as Hennepin Soil and Water Conservation District, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the Metropolitan Council provide fiscal support in these efforts to maintain and enhance Medicine Lake as a regional, recrea- tional and aesthetic resource.
