Councilmember Seibold introduced the following Resolution and
moved its adoption;
RESOLUTION NO. 78-351
AUTHORIZING THE PLACEMENT OF
LOAD RESTRICTIONS ON
LARCH AND PINEVIEW LANE
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes Chapter 169 authorizes the City to establish
load limits on certain streets and roads, for the protection of the
general public and preservation of public roadways, and
WHEREAS, Pursuant to statute the City has adopted Chapter IV of the City
Code regulating traffic, parking and weight, and
WHEREAS, the gravel portions of Larch Lane between County Road 9 and 45th
Avenue North and the gravel portion of Pineview Lane between 49th Avenue
and County Road 49 are sustaining traffic loads in excess of their
construction capacities, causing premature road disintegration and generally
creating hazardous conditions on these sections of ruadway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council should and hereby
does establish a vehicle load limit of three (3) tons for these roadways.
AND FURTHER, that the City Manager is authorized to post each street in
conformance with the Minnesota Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
