Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Plymuth. Minnesota was held on the
17th day of April . 1978 . The following members were
present,

RESOLUTION NO. 78-227
SUPPORTING APPOINTMENT OF LORING M. STAPLES
TO METROPOLITAN TRANSIT COMMISSION
WHEREAS, Mr. William 0. Cooley has resigned his position as a Commissioner of
the Metropolitan Transit Commission, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Loring M. Staples had served as the Commissioner to the Metropolitan
Transit Commission from this district from 1966 through July, 1977, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Loring M. Staples distinguished himself in his capacity as a
Commissioner serving the interests of the western Hennepin suburban area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the City Council hereby supports the reappointment of Loring M.
Staples to the Metropolitan Transit Commission to complete the unexpired term
of Mr. William 0. Cooley.
FURTHER, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to all members of the
Metropolitan Council.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Spaeth . and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Hunt, Councilmembers Hoyt, Neils,
Seibold and Spaeth
