Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minsenota was a on t e
20th day of March , 1978 . The following members were
present: Mayor Hunt, Councilmembers Hot Neils and Spaeth
The following members were absent: Councilmember Seibold
Councilmember Spaeth introduced the following Resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 78-150
REQUESTING SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
COUNTY ROAD 6 AND VICKSBURG LANE
WHEREAS, County State Aid Highway 6 and Vicksburg Lane are both major thoroughfares
within the City of Plymouth, and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has upgraded Vicksburg Lane south of County Road 6
to a full urban section, and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth is experiencing rapid growth in and around the
intersection of County Road 6 and Vicksburg Lane, and, therefore, some type of
safety improvement will be necessary for that intersection in the near future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the Hennepin County Public Works Department shall give high priority
for a safety improvement project at the intersection of County Road 6 and Vicksburg
Lane, said project to include intersection channelization and the installation of
fully actuated traffic signals with the regarding of County Road 6 east of the
intersection to improve the site distance. This project should be installed during
the 1980 or 1981 construction season and in the meantime the County shall monitor
traffic volumes and accidents at the subject intersection and take any remedial
action appropriate.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Neils 'and upon vote being taken thereon, the

and Spaeth
