The following members were present: Mayor Hunt Councilmembers Hot Neils Seibold and Spaeth The following members were absent: None Mayor Hunt . introduced the following Resolution and mov�ts adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 78-115 DECLARING SUNDAY, MARCH 19, 1978 HORACE J. (JERRY) PAUL DAY IN THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH WHEREAS, the Union City Mission has for decades engaged in a dedicated ecumenical ministry providing care and support for homeless and chemically -dependent men, and WHEREAS, for the past fifty-two years Horace J. (Jerry) Paul has been associated with the work of the Union City Mission and the Mission Farms Nursing Home, and WHEREAS, through his insight and dedication a new facility for the treatment of chemically -dependent persons has recently been constructed providing for expanded services to the area, and WHEREAS, throughout his service to the Mission Farms Jerry Paul has contributed substantial amounts of time and energy to the betterment of Plymouth and the Minneapolis Metropolitan area generally, and WHEREAS, Jerry Paul has now retired as Superintendent of the Mission Farms having provided it with outstanding leadership and direction; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that the Plymouth City Council on behalf of the citizens of Plymouth does hereby extend its sincerest appreciation to Jerry Paul for his years of dedicated service to his fellow man and fellow citizens and FURTHER that he enjoy a particularly rich and rewarding retirement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in recognition of his service to the Union City Mission and the community that Sunday, March 19, 1978 be declared as Horace J. (Jerry) Paul Day in the City of Plymouth. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember S aeth , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following vote n favor thereof: Mayor Hunt, Councilmembers Hoyt, Neils, Seiboldand Spaeth The foll owing voted against orabstained; None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passe and adopted,
