Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of
the City Coun:il of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was a on t e
27th day of February 1918 . The following members were
present: Mayor Hunt C nilc.-members
The following members were absent: None
Councilmember Neils introduced the following Resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 78-104
SUPPORTING APPOINTMENT OF WAYNE COURTNEY
TO THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, Robert Short has resigned as a member of the Metropolitan Council
creating a vacancy for District 11, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Plymouth believes that a qualified
individual should be appointed to this vacant position as soon as practicable,
and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Plymouth believes that an individual with
local government experience should be considered for this position, and
WHEREAS, Wayne Courtney has served on the Edina City Council since 1967
during which time he has gained familiarity with both local and regional issues;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the City Council of the City of Plymouth supports the appointment
of Wayne Courtney to District 11 of the Metropolitan Council because of his
knowledge of local and metropolitan affairs.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Seibold , and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following vo e n favor thereof: Mayor Hunt Councilmember- Npijc,
Seibold and Spaeth

Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly partsed and adopted,
