Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a. regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Mimesota was held on the
7th day of November , 19 77. The following members were
present; Mayor Hilde, Counci men Hun-T—.Neils. Seibold and Spaeth
The following members were absent: None
Councilman Hunt introduced the following Resolution and moved
itsadoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 77-661
APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO SUPPORT HECO ENGINEERING STUDY TO'PROVIDE FOR
RELIEF OF PUBLIC SAFETY RADIO FREQUENCIES IN HENNEPIN COUNTY AREA
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth is a member of the Hennepin Emergency Comunications
Organization (RECO), and
WHEREAS, the HECO Board of Directors and its Executive Committee have recommended
that an engineering study be undertaken to consider among other things the most
practical and feasible means of combining and/or consolidating some or all of
the several dispatching operations in Hennepin County, and
WHEREAS, federal and/or state funds to finance this study do not appear to be
available, and
WHEREAS, the Executive Committee of HECO has developed a formula for paying for
this study estimated to cost $60,000 of which Plymouth's share would be $2,600,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that this study should help improve communi-
cations of public safety agencies in Hennepin County generally and the Sheriff's
Department specifically;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the City Council hereby appropriates a sum not to exceed $2,600
from the Contingency Fund to support the necessary engineering study to develop
alternative means of consolidating some or all of the dispatching operations so
as to provide for a relief of public safety radio frequencies in the Hennepin
County area.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded
by Souncilman Neils and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following votec�in avor ereof: Mayor Hilde, Councilmen Hunt, Neils,
Seibold and -Spaeth
