HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1977-656W CITY OF PI,Y 4xm Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was on t " 7th day of November , 19 77. The following members were present: Ma gr H'lZ,de_Councilmen Hunt, Neils.+Seibold and Spaeth were RRR RRR RRR Councilman Spaeth introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 77-656 EXECUTING A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT FOR NURSING SERVICES WHEREAS, the Community Health Services Act of 1976 requires all municipalities to deliver nursing services to community residents; and WHEREAS, the Suburban Public Health Nursing Service loses existing statutory authority to operate effective December 14, 1977; and WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has received nursing services through the Suburban Public Health Nursing Service and must therefore find some alternate means of ensuring that Plymouth residents receive nursing services; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.5% and Minnesota Statutes, Sections 145.911 and 145.922, a joint powers agreement is under consideration for establishing an organization to provide, to the extent permitted by law, community health nursing services and home health services for participating governmental units; and WHEREAS, the creation of a joint powers organization for this purpose is in the best interest of the community and its residents: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that it should and hereby does represent its intent to participate in the joint powers organization known as the Suburban Health Nursing Service effective December 14, 1977. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized'to enter into this agreement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Frank Boyles is hereby appointed Plymouth's representa- tive to the Suburban Health Nursing Service Board of Directors. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Neils , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following ,rated in favor thereof: Mayor Hilde. Councilmen Hunt. Neils. Seibold and Spaeth The following voted against or abstained: None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopte
