The following members were present: _a or Hil e, Councilmen Hunt, Neils and Spaeth The following members were sent: Councilman Seibold yrs ��• �*� Councilman Hunt introduced the following Resolution and moved Its tion: RESOLUTION NO. 77-482 DESIGNATING OCTOBER AS "INSTALL A SMOKE DETECTOR IN YOUR HOME" MONTH WHEREAS, the primary function of local government is to provide for the safety and protection of all its citizens; and WHEREAS, the members of the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department provide their fellow citizens with excellent fire protection and seek in all possible ways to prevent fire loss; and WHEREAS, fires in the home continue to cause substantial loss in terms of human suffering and property destruction; and WHEREAS, a significant reduction in all types of fire loss can be realized through the installation of home smoke detectors; and WHEREAS, many homes in the City of Plymouth are not currently equipped with smoke detectors: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that this Council urges each and every resident in the City of Plymouth to purchase and install a smoke detector in their home to protect their loved ones. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the month of October be and hereby is designated as "Install a Smoke Detector in Your Home" month in the City of Plymouth. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Neils , and upon vote being taken thereon, the followingfollowmg vote in favor ereof: Mayor Hilda.
