HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1977-189Pursuant to due call CITY OF Pt"ITI'FI notice thereof, aspecial meeting of , City of Plymouth, unnesota was held on the 1 , 19 The following members were un ouncilmen Neils and Spaeth RRR RRR Councilman Neils introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 77-189 ORDERING AN ACTUARIAL STUDY OF VOLUNTEER FIRE RELIEF ASSOCIATION BENEFITS WHEREAS, the City Manager in his report dated April 7, 1977 recommended the need to study pension and other benefit levels of the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department, and WHEREAS, the Volunteer Firemen's Relief Association Guidelines Act of 1971 requires that periodic actuarial studies be undertaken to determine the status of such Associations, and WHEREAS, the City Council believes that such studies will enable it to properly review the need for, and the cost of, pension and other benefits for the members of the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that the City Manager communicate with the president of the Plymouth Volunteer Firemen's Relief Association urging that the Association promptly undertake an actuarial study of present benefits and possible new benefits for the members of the Fire Department as recommended in the Manager's report dated April 7, 1977, and FURTHER, that the results of actuarial and benefit studies be submitted to this Council as soon as possible. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Spaeth, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following vote in favor t ereof: Acting Mayor Hunt, Councilmen Neils and Spaeth ine roitowing voted against or abstained: Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
