Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a. s.pUe.cial meeting of
the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Mimiesota was held on the
79th day of March , 19 77 . The following members were
present:.._01 Councilmen Hunt _Neils and Spaeth
The folloing members were sent: Mayor Hilde and Councilman Selbold
Councilman Neils introduced the following Resolution and moved
its sa option:

DESCRIBING METROPOLITAN URBAN SERVICE AREA DISTRICT WITHIN CITY OF PLYMOUTH FOR
SUBMISSION TO HEARING EXAMINER FOR METROPOLITAN COUNCIL --
METROPOLITAN SIGNIFICANCE RULES AND REGULATIONS
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has proposed Rules and Regulations for implementing
Metropolitan Significance dated January 13, 1977 on which a public hearing was held
March 16, 1977;
AND, WHEREAS, Plymouth testified at said hearing in support of excluding Plymouth from
the definition of said rules of "outlying community";
AND, WHEREAS, the Hearing Examiner has requested the City to submit a map and legal
description of the boundary of the Metropolitan Urban Service Area within Plymouth;
�r NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does adopt "Attachment A" hereto as the descrip-
tion pf the Metropolitan Urban Servic Area within Plymouth.
FURTHER, the City Staff is directed to submit said description to the Metropolitan
Significance Hearing Examiner before April 6, 1977.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded
by Quarilman Hunt----, and upon vote being taken thereon, the

following voted in favorthereof: Councilmen Hunt. Neils and Spaeth

Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION FOR THE METROPOLITAN
URBAN SERVICE AREA DISTRICT
The Metropolitan Urban Service Area District lies south and east of the following
described line:
Commencing at the intersection of the North right-of-way line of Medina
Road and the West line of the Southwest Quarter of Section 18, Township
118, Range 22 West, Hennepin County, Minnesota; thence Southeasterly along
the said North right-of-way line of Medina Road to a point with the inter-
section of the West line of the East Half of Section 18; thence North to
the Northwest corner of the Southeast Quarter of Section 7; thence Easterly
along the North line of the Southeast Quarter of Section 7 to the Northwest
corner of the South Half of Section 8; thence continuing Easterly along
the North line of the South Half of said Section 8 to the Northwest corner
of the South Half of Section 9; thence continuing Easterly along the North
line of the said South Half of Section 9 to the Southwest Corner of the
Northwest Quarter of Section 10; thence continuing Easterly along the
South line of the Northwest Quarter of Section 10 to the West right-of-way
line of Interstate Highway 494; thence Northerly along the said West
right-of-way line of Interstate Highway 494 to a point which intersects
with the East line of the West Half of Section 3; thence Northerly along the
East line of the West Half of said Section 3 to the Southeast corner of the
North Half of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 3; thence Westerly to
the Southwest corner of the North Half of the Northwest Quarter of said
Section 3; thence Northerly along the West line of the said Northwest Quarter
of the Northwest Quarter of Section 3, Township 118, Range 22 West, Hennepin
County, Minnesota and there terminating.
Also to be included in the Metropolitan Urban Service Area is the plat of
Schmidt's Gardens located in the East Half of the Northeast Quarter of the
Northwest Quarter of Section 18, Township 118, Range 22 West, Hennepin
County, Minnesota.
