R ESOLUTION A PPROVING P LANS AND A UTHORIZATION FOR THE A DVERTISEMENT
OF B IDS FOR THE I NTEGRATED A UDIO-V ISUAL S YSTEMS AND E QUIPMENT FOR THE
C ITY C OUNCIL C HAMBERS (AS-20-0001)
WHEREAS, the last comprehensive audio/visual technology upgrade in the City Council Chambers
was completed in 2011; and
WHEREAS, throughout the past decade, the technology in the chambers has aged and has caused
limitations for the CCX Media broadcast of city meetings as well as the user experience of meeting
participants and city staff utilizing the chambers; and
WHEREAS, since March of this year, city staff has worked with consultant FinePoint Technology, LLC
to develop an upgrade project plan that brings the chambers in line with modern broadcast standards and
enhances the experience of meeting participants; and
WHEREAS, plans for the project feature upgrades to in-chambers microphones, speakers, cameras,
displays and presentation functions; and
WHERAS, equipment operated by CCX Media for meeting broadcast will also be updated; and
WHEREAS, physical and auditory access to the space will be increased, and
WHEREAS, the flexibility of the chambers will be enhanced to allow for greater use by city staff and
other groups; and
WHEREAS, the project is included in the 2020 Capital Improvement Plan with a budget of $300,000;
and
WHEREAS, FinePoint Technology has provided a project estimate of $290,500.
WHEREAS, the bid process will be initiated on August 4, 2020 and available for bid award on
September 8, 2020.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that plans are approved and the advertisement for bids is authorized for the Integrated Audio-
Visual Systems and Equipment for the City Council Chambers.
