Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of
the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, iia—s— efd on the
25th day of October 19 76 . The following members were
present: Acting Maya s. Seibold and Spaeth
The following members were absent: Ma�nr Hilde
Acting Mayon Hunt introduced the following Resolution and
moved Its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 76-636
ESTABLISHING A POLICY ON THE DESTRUCTION OF AUDIO TAPES USED
FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECORDING COUNCIL MEETINGS FIVE YEARS FROM
THE DATE OF THE INITIAL RECORDING
WHEREAS, since 1972 the City Council of the City of Plymouth has recorded
the proceedings of its meetings on audio tapes; -and
WHEREAS, the purpose of such recording has been for the purpose of assisting
the City Clerk in preparing the minutes of the proceedings of the
regular and special Council meetings of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the audio tapes are not an official record of the City of Plymouth
and therefore not under the purview of Section 412.841, Minnesota
Statutes; and
WHEREAS, all tapes have been stored and kept by the City Clerk for all the
years that they have been used in recording the proceedings of the
Plymouth Council meetings; and
WHEREAS, because of storage requirements, it is desirable to establish a
policy for destruction of such tapes when they have outlived their
usefulness.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH AS FOLLOWS:
It is the policy of the City Council that after a lapse of
five years from the date of the initial recording all audio
tapes of regular and special Council meetings of the City
Council may be erased and destroyed.
- The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded
by Quncilman Neils , and upon vote being taken thereon,
the following voted in favor thereof: Acting Mayor Hunt,

Whereupon the Resolution was declared
