HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Minutes 05-26-2020 SpecialAdopted Minutes Special Council Meeting May 26, 2020 Mayor Wosje called a Special Meeting of the Plymouth City Council to order at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, on May 26, 2020. COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Wosje, Councilmembers Willis, Carroll, McGregor, Roehl, Davis, and Prom. (Councilmembers McGregor, Carroll, Willis, Davis, Prom, and Roehl participated remotely per State Statute 13D.021). ABSENT: None. STAFF PRESENT. City Manager Callister, Administrative Services Director Hokkanen, and City Clerk Engdahl. (Public Safety Director Goldstein, Human Resources Manager Kone, Parks and Recreation Director Evans, Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation Northway, Community Development Director Juetten, and Public Works Director Thompson participated remotely). Human Rights Public Safety Director Goldstein provided a history of the Human Rights Commission and noted that for the past several years, there hasn't been a commission. He and Parks and Recreation Director Evans discussed the public outreach events and programs and service events that their departments provide for all communities. Staff receives input from residents and integrates activities and events in the programming. A discussion was held if a committee should be convened and/or if there are other programs and initiatives, resources, etc. that staff should include in programming and/or make available to residents. In order that there isn't a duplication of efforts, Council directed staff to contact Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners and other social service agencies and put together a list of resources available to residents. Council suggested tabling this item until there can be a public meeting versus a virtual meeting. Set Future Study Sessions The Council scheduled the following study sessions: • June 9 at 5:00 p.m. — drive-in/drive-through businesses and budget goals • June 23 at 5:30 p.m. — electronic billboards • July 28 at 5:30 p.m. — human rights • August 18 at 5:00 p.m. - General Fund Budget and CIP review • August 25 at 5:00 p.m. — General Fund Budget and CIP review (if needed) Adopted Minutes 1 of 2 Special Meeting of May 26, 2020 October 13 at 5:00 p.m. — Utility Study and other funds budget review October 27 at 5:00 p.m. — Utility Study and other funds budget review (if needed) November 10 at 5:30 p.m. — Budget (if needed) Adiournment Mayor Wosje adjourned the meeting at 6:50 p.m. lAww"i All -a A4 .4Z / 4.landra R.
