Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was he on n tiFie 16th day of

introduced the following Resolution and moved
s adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 75-305
AUTHORIZING PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR TO INITIATE
MEETING BETWEEN COUNTY CITIES OF PLYMOUTH AND MINNETONKA
RE CONSTRUC+ION OF COUNTY ROAD 15
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plymouth has adopted a Thoroughfare
Guide Plan dated February 28, 1972, and
WHEREAS, existing County Road 15 within Plymouth has many hills, curves and blind
intersections thereby creating numerous dangerous conditions for the motorists,
bikers and pedestrians resulting in 15 property damage accidents, 10 personal
injury accidents from January 1, 1974 through June d, 1975, and
WHEREAS, the plan indicates that a realignment of County Road 15 within Plymouth
is proposed in order that said roadway will be able to accommodate anticipated
traffic in a safe and orderly manner which should eliminate the aforementioned
dangerous conditions, and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has implemented the construction of a portion of the
realignment of County Road 15 between 1.- 494 and CSAH 61, and therefore more
traffic is likely to be diverted to County Road 15, and
WHEREAS, the existing development in both Plymouth and Minnetonka coupled with
future development will impose a heavy traffic load on County Road 15, above
its capabilities to handle said traffic in a safe and orderly manner,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the Hennepin County Board authorize their Public Works Director
to initiate a meeting with representatives of the County and the Cities of Plymouth
and Minnetonka relative to the construction of County Road 15 from I - 494 to
T.H. 12 as shown in the City of Plymouth's Thoroughfare Guide PLan.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that due to the urgency of the situation, in the interim,
the County take the following action to improve the safety aspects of existing
County Road 15 between Vicksburg Lane and I-494 by:
1. Installation of stop signs at the intersection of:
a. Vicksburg Lane
b. Niagara Lane
c. Harbor Lane
2. Consider the placement of rumble strips.
