R ESOLUTION N O. 2020-138
R ESOLUTION A CCEPTING D ONATION OF A MBULANCE
WHEREAS, the SWAT Negotiation Team utilizes a repurposed ambulance for the Negotiations
Operation Center; and
WHEREAS, dedicated equipment and tactics are used to negotiate with barricaded criminal suspects
and mentally ill subjects in order to peacefully resolve an incident; and
WHEREAS, the current vehicle used by the SWAT Negotiation Team is a 1998 ambulance that was
purchased from North Memorial Health Transportation by the Police Department in 2005; and
WHEREAS, the vehicle is experiencing significant mechanical and mold issues;
WHEREAS, North Memorial Health Transportation has a program to provide used ambulances
rotating out of service to public safety agencies;
WHEREAS, North Memorial Health Transportation desires to donate a 2014 ambulance to the Police
Department to be used by the SWAT Negotiations Team.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the donation of a 2014 ambulance from North Memorial Health Transportation to the
Police Department to be used by the SWAT Negotiations Team is accepted.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 14th day of April, 2020.
