CITY OF PLYMOUTH
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a_ regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota,— as held on the 5th day of
August , 1974 . The following members were present: ayor Hilde,
Councilmen Hunt, Seibold"-and Spaeth
The following membe~s were absent: Councilman Neils
Councilman Seibold introduced the following Resolution and moved
s adoption:

SPECIAL ELECTION FOR SUBMISSION OF THE QUESTION OF
SPECIAL LICENSES FOR SUNDAY SALES OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR - NOVEMBER 5, 1974
WHEREAS, Section 340.14, Subdivision 5. Minnesota Statutes provides for the sale
of intoxicating liquor on Sundays under conditions specified therein. and
WHEREAS, said statute does not apply to any municipality until authorized by the
voters of the municipality voting at a specai election called for such purpose or
at the general election in the runicipality which election is to be conducted in
accordance with the applicable provisions of the Minnesota election law. and
WHEREAS. the City Council deans it suitable and proper that said question be
submitted to the voters of the City of Plymouth,
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH
AS FOLLOWS:
1. The question of the authorizatira for Sunday liq_or sales shall be submitted
to a vote of the electors of the City at a special election whi h is hereby
called to be held at the regular polling places in the City on ,:he Sth day of
November. 1974, concurrently with the General Election.
2. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time and place
of holding such election and of the issue to be submitted to the voters by
giving 10 days posted notice and by publishing a notice thereof once each
for two successive weeks prior to said election in the official newspaper of
the City.
3. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause suitable ballots
to be prepared for said election which shall state the question to be voted
upon in the following form:
SHALL THE CITY COUNCIL BE AUTHORIZED TO ISSUE SPECIAL LICENSES
FOR THE SALE OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR ON SUNDAY IN THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH?
