RESOLUTION NO. 74-315
CALLING 'A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR SUBMISSION OF THE
QUESTION OF SPECIAL LICENSES FOR SUNDAY SALES OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR
WHEREAS, Section 340.14, Subdivision 5, Minnesota Statutes provides for the sale
of intoxicating liquor on Sundays under conditions specified therein and,
WHEREAS. said statute does not apply to any municipality until authorized by the
voters of the municipality voting at a special election called for such purpose
or at the general election in the municipality which election is to be conducted
In accordance with tbb applicable provisions of the Minnesota election law and,
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it suitable and proper that said question be
submitted -to the voters of the City of Plymouth,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH
AS FOLLOWS:
1. The questioncof the authorizetidn for Sunday liquor sales shall be submitted
to`a vote of the electors of the City ata special election which is hereby
called to be held at the regular polling places in the City on the 10th
day of September, 1974, concurrently with the State primary election.
2. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time and
place of holding such election and of the issue to be submitted to the voters
by giving 10 days posted notice and by publishing a notice thereof once
each week for two successive weeks prior to said election in the official
newspaper of the City.
3. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause suitable ballots to
be prepared for said election which shall state the question to be voted upon
