HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2020-122 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2020-122 R ESOLUTION A WARDING C ONTRACT FOR THE 2020 M ILL AND O VERLAY P ROJECT (ST209002) WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 2020 Mill and Overlay Project, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to State law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: Contractor Total Bid S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc. $747,079.98 North Valley, Inc. $856,603.03 Park Construction Company $856,840.63 Valley Paving, Inc $869,254.32 Northwest $888,529.53 Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp. $897,845.96 Bituminous Roadways Inc. $936,732.70 C.S. McCrossan Construction, Inc. $946,661.83 Engineers Estimate $961,472.75 WHEREAS, it appears that S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc., of Jordan, Minnesota, is the lowest responsible bidder, complying with the minimum qualifications; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommends awarding the project S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. The appropriate City Officials are authorized and directed to enter into the contract with S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc. in the name of the City of Plymouth for the 2020 Mill and Overlay Project according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Engineer in the amount of $747,079.98. 2. In addition to the mill and overlay performed by contracted and City forces in the amount of $750,131.21 preventative maintenance in the amount of $276,921.51, and design, administration, and contingency in the amount of $127,648.98 for a total project cost of $1,154,701.70 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the project would be funded from the following sources: assessments in the amount of $278,864.13, the Street Reconstruction Fund in the amount of $680,309.65, the Water Fund in the amount of $60,018.75, the Sewer Fund in the amount of $43,260.00, the Water Resources Fund in the amount of $25,000.00, and the Parks Budget in the amount of $67,269.17. APPROVED by the City Council on this 24th day of March, 2020.
