CITY OF PLYMOUTH
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a lar meeting of the City
Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on 1st day
of April , 19_jg_. The following merwers were present: Mayor -
ng members were absent: none
Councilman Spaeth introduced the following Resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 74-182
C. C. LUDWIG AWARD - NOMINATION OF VICTORIA JOYNER
WHEREAS, each year the League of Minnesota Municipalities honors a municipal
official whose career in municipal service exemplifies the ideals of the late
Mr. C. C. Ludwig, the Executive Secretary of the League for 24 years, and
WHEREAS, this award will be presented again this year at the League Convention
at Duluth in June, and
WHEREAS, Victoria Joyner has served as Mayor of Osseo for 20 years, being instru-
mental, during this long.period service, in making her community a better place
to live, and
WHEREAS, in addition to serving Osseo so faithfully as a municipal official,
Mayor Joyner has also contributed her time and talents to the betterment of her
community through many other activities, and'
WHEREAS,'Mayor Joyner has received honors for her work outside of municipal
services, including being named Woman of the Year for 1973 by the North Hennepin
Business and Professional Women's Club and Woman of the Year for 1973 by the State
Business and Professional Women's Club,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNE-
SOTA, that (1) the City of Plymouth believes that Victoria Joyner does exemplify
the Ideals of the late C. C. Ludwig and would be an outstandingrecipient of the
G. C. Ludwig Award for her many years of municipal service, (2we support her nomina-
tion for the Award and urge her selection at the League's Convention in June, and
(3) copies of this resolution be sent to Mr. Dean Lund, Executive Director of the
League of Minnesota Municipalities.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilman Hunt , and upon vote being taken thereon, the
f6ilowing votea in favor thereof:- Mayor Hilden Councilmen Hunt, Neils
and Spaeth
The following voted against orabstained: Counc man Spaeth abstained.
Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
