GOOGLE By: Mark Reilly - Managing Editor, Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal Mar 27, 2020, 8:13am EDT Amerilab Technologies Inc., a Twin Cities contract manufacturer of effervescent nutritional powders and tablets, has been acquired by an Irish distributor in a deal worth $85 million. The Irish Times reports on the deal, announced earlier this week, that will fold Amerilab into Dublin-based DCC's health and beauty division. Amerilab, which employs 125 people and has revenue of $68 million, will keep its existing management team. The Plymouth-based company was founded in 1995 by CEO Fred Wehling (who previously founded CIMA Labs) and Bruce Paddock, the former CEO and owner Paddock Laboratories Inc. Paddock sold his stake in Amerilab in 2015. The DCC-Amerilab deal also includes Amerilab's 121,120-square-foot manufacturing plant and a 7.9-acre campus at 2765 Niagara Lane N., which had been owned by an entity related to Wehling, Finance & Commerce reports. The deal valued the property at $8.35 million. Nancy Pierce By: Carter Jones - Digital Producer, Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal Mar 31, 2020, 12:04pm EDT Less than six months after announcing its first quarterly profit in three years, Christopher & Banks Corp. is significantly reducing operating expenses due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The Plymouth, Minn.-based women's apparel retailer announced Tuesday it would furlough all of its retail staff and over 60 percent of its remaining workforce, according to a press release. Corporate employees and management will also receive temporary base salary reductions beginning with 20 percent and up to 50 percent for the CEO.
