HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1974-060CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 28th day of January, 1974. The following members were present: Mayor Hilde, Councilmen Neils, Seibold and Hunt. The following members were absent: Councilman Spaeth. Councilman Neils introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 74-60 INSTALLATION OF A FLASHER SYSTEM WITH STREET LIGHTS INTERSECTION OF T.H. 55 AT T.H. 101 and PEONY LANE WHEREAS, the Minnesota Highway Department has made a traffic study of the intersection of T.H. 55 at T.H. 101 and Peony Lane, said study indicating that there have been numerous accidents from 1969 - 1973, and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Highway Department has proposed to install a span wire mounted flasher system with street lights in order to make this a safer intersection, and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Highway Department has estimated the total cost of said improvement to be $8,000.00 and have requested that the City of Plymouth's share would be 25% of total cost plus 6% engineering costs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, that the Minnesota Highway Department proceed with this improve- ment and that a cooperative agreement be prepared with the Minnesota Highway Department and that the City's share be set at 25% of total construction cost plus 6% of engineering cost. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Hunt, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Hilde, Councilmen Neils, Seibold and Hunt. The following voted against or abstained: None. Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
