HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1973-332Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting i of the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 201h day of August 1973. The follow- Ing members were present: Mayor Hilde. Councilmen Hunt. Neils. Seibold and Soaeth The following members were absent: None •#t Councilman Neils introduced the following Re- solution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 73-332 A POLICY RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO BUILDING ELEVATIONS BELOW HIGH WATER MARKS ESTABLISHED FOR PONDS, i LAKES AND STREAMS WITHIN THE STORM DRAINAGE PLAN � �f WHEREAS, the Plymouth Village Council on August 6, 1973, by Resolution No. 73-307, did adopt the Storm Drainage Plan dated March, 1973, as a guide for the future development and improvement of ponds, lakes and streams within the Village, to promote and maintain adequate drainage facilities, and WHEREAS, the Plymouth Village Council intends to adopt a revised Zoning Ordinance which will set forth regulations to protect the areas required for 3 +; future ponding and conveyance of storm water, and MHEREAS, prior to the adoption of said revised Zoning Ordinance, it is t �' for the benefit of the citizens and property owners of Plymouth Village to i+ ensure that new developments are not permitted to encroach on these required j storm drainage retention and conveyance areas, NOW, 1HEREFORE, BE IT HHUMY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYM TH that the new buildings not be permitted to be located at an elevation below the high water levels as set forth in the adopted Storm Drainage Plan dated March, 1973 for ponds, streams and lakes, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Building Department be instructed to obtain the approval of the Village engineer prior to the issuance of any I; building permits in areas, which would propose to locate a structure belga any established high water mark and that denial can be appealed by a petition to the Village Council for a variance to this policy, and 1 BE rrl�TURTHER RESOLVED that this policy shall become null and void when j a revised Zoning Ordinance is adopted by the Plymouth Village Council which contains adequate flood protection measures.
