HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1973-331r T", Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth, Hinpesota, was held on the 20th day of _Auo,st 1973. Tne follow- ing members were present: Mayor Hilde. Councilmen Hunt, Neils. Seibold and Spaeth The following members were absent: None ww,t tt* trs Councilman Neils introduced the following Re- solution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 73-331 WHEREAS, the Plymouth Village Council has adopted a Land Use Guide Plan i proposing an extensive trail system to link parks, schools and neighborhood �I shoping centers, and W B AS it is the general policy of the Village that the trail system �! within the fully developed areas of the Village will not be used by motorized vehicles, and .r i WHEREAS, residents in the area of the Luce Line Trail have expressed support of a trail for non -motorized trail uses only by signing a petition, t NOW, 1HMWORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE OOtMCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOMH that the State Department of Natural Resourss be hereby !' petitioned to develop theportion of the Luce Line Trail within Plymouth for j non -motorized usage only because of the following reasons: ri 1. Concentration of residential development along this section of the trail. Motorized trail vehicles wouldesent a very real safety !! hazard to children and others living adjacent to this portion of the trail. In addition, providing security and controlling noise would be extremely difficult. I 2. Lack of any public off-street access for cars with trailers in proximity of the trail. 3. The Village of Plymouth's trail system will exclude motorized �( vehicles along that portion of their system that connects with the Luce Line Trail. BE IT FURIM RESOLVED that the Village Clerk transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the Commissioner of Natural Resources. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Seibold and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Manor Hilde, �1 Councilmen Hunt, Neils and Seibold The fnllowing voted against or abstained: Councilman Spaeth li Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
