HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1973-234VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 18th day of June, 1973. The following members were present: Mayor Hilde Councilmen Hunt, Spaeth. Seibold and NeilK The following members were absent: None Councilman Spaeth introduced the following Resolu- tion and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 73-234 WHEREAS, the school administration and 5th grade teachers of the Greenwood Elementary School have taken it upon themselves to fos'ei a respect for the process of law in our society, and WHEREAS, again this year Zhe program "Children and the Law" brought a new awareness to the 5th grade youth of the school of the processes of Justice in a democratic system as well as the role of the police and local government in that process, and WHEREAS, the further participation of these young people in a Village Council meeting exposes them to the process of their own local government thus furthering respect and understanding of our form of gov- ernment, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH that the administration and 5th grade faculty of the Greenwood Elementary School be congratulated and commended for their con- tinuing efforts to promote both respect and an effective awareness in the processes of justice and responsive local government in our system by the youth of the school. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Seibold , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor H11de. Councilmen Hunt, Spaethl Seibold and Neils The following voted against or abstained: None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. STATE OF MINNESOTA ) COUNTY OF HENNEPIN SS. VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH I, the undersigned, being the duly qualified and acting Clerk of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota, hereby certify that I have carefully compared the foregoing extract of the minutes of a regular meeting of the Village Cowl- cil of said Village held on June 18, 1973, with the original thereof on file in my office, and the same is a full, true and complete transcript therefrom.
