HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1973-190VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting lof the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota, was {held on the 21st day of May, 1973. The following members were Ipresent: Mayor Hilde, Councilmen Hunt, Spaeth and Neils The following members were absent: Councilman Seibold *** Councilman Neils Etion and moved its adoption: *** introduced the following Resolu- RESOLUTION NO. 73-190 WHEREAS, the Village Manager shall recommend to the Village Council from time to time appropriations from the "Park Dedication Fund" for the acquisition of land for park and playground purposes and for development of parks and play- grounds or for debt retirement in connection therewith, and WHEREAS, this Council desires to establish general guidelines for the distribution of the "Park Dedication Funds" to various types of Village parks, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH that the Village Manager operate within the following guide- lines in making recommendations to the Village Council for the appropriation of "Park Dedication Funds": 1. The Manager shall establish accurate financial records for trans- actions with the following three categories of the "Park Dedication Fund": a. Central community park and the Village -wide Trail System b. Community parks c. Neighborhood parks 2. Appropriations from'the "Park Dedication Fund" shall normally be on an annual basis, as part of the annual Village budget, and shall be coordinated with the Village Capital Improvements Program. 3. Appropriations from the "Park Dedication Fund" shall be for the acquisition and development for Nillage parks, and over a five-year period shall be ,distributed as follows: a. Central community park and the Village -wide Trail System - 50%', b. Community por4,intended'to serve several walking neighbor- hoods - 25% c. Neighborhood parks intended to serve one walking neighborhood park - 25% 4. In the acquisition and development of parks and trails, Park Dedi- cation funds will be combined with other funds which might be made available from the Village General Fund, private donations, and Federal, State and County grants. 5. At the time that a developer's "Park Dedication Fund" contribution and credit is determined, it shall be further determined to which account the remaining cash contribution shall be credited. I The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was Iduly seconded by Councilman Spaeth , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Hilde, Councilmen Spaeth, Hunt and Neils The following voted against or abstained: None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
