Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of
the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota, was
held on the 5th day of February, 1973. The following members were
present: Mayor Hilde, Councilmen Hunt, Seibold and Neils. The
following members were absents Councilman Spaeth.
Councilman Hunt introduced the following Resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 73-54
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A POLICY
ON BUILDING SETBACKS FROM FUTURE STREETS
WHEREAS, the Village of Plymouth did on February 28, 1972 adopt a
Thoroughfare Guide Plan for the general location of and development stand-
ards for future thoroughfarestreets within the Village of Plymouth, and
WHEREAS, an undue hardship, is caused when a residential dwelling is
not properly set back from major and local thoroughfares, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Village of Plymouth and
private property owners to properly space buildings from future thorough-
fare streets,
NOW, THEREFORE, BEITHEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH that when a proposed thoroughfare street alignment and
right of way width is known, that the Village administrative staff shall,
whenever practical, consider the proposed street location and street right
of way as though it were in fact existing when computing building setback
requirements, and that future possible platting be considered,
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village staff is directed to con -
cider this requirement being included in future revisions to the Village
Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations.
The, motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was
duly seconded by Councilman Neils, and upon vote being taken
thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Hilde, Coun-
cilmen Hunt, Seibold and Neils. The following voted against or
abstained: None. Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly
passed and adopted.
