HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1973-035VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota, was hel on the 22nd day of January, 1973. The following members were present: Mayor H11de, Councilmen Hunt, Spaeth and Seibold. The following members were absent: Councilman Neils. Councilman Hunt introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 73-35 STATEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN HENNEPIN COUNTY 3 PLYMOUTH VILLAGE WHEREAS, the Village of Plymouth and the Village of Maple Grove both in- �clude a "Major Thoroughfare" route between I-494 and CSAH 18 in their respec- tive Thoroughfare Guide Plan or Comprehensive Development Plan, and WHEREAS, the County of Hennepin includes an "Arterial" route between I-494 and CSAH 18 in their Proposed Highway Classification Plan, and WHEREAS, the terms "Major Thoroughfare" and "Arterial" are synonymous and, therefore, the three agencies agree conceptually to the establishment of a roadway between I-494 and CSAH 18, and WHEREAS, the County of Hennepin is, at present, engaged in the process of designating the above described route as County -State Aid Highway No. 61 from T.H. 55 to CSAH 130 in accordance with the procedures set forth by the State of Minnesota, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY AGREED AS FOLLOWS: 1. A route shall be designated by the County of Hennepin as County -State Aid Highway No. 61 from the present intersection of T.H. 55 and CSAR 61 to the northerly boundary of the Village of Plymouth between I-494 and CSAH 18 generally along the alignment shown for a Major Thorough- fare in the Village of Plymouth Thoroughfare Guide Plan adopted on February 28, 1972. 2. The County of Hennepin will continue to provide the normal maintenance and repair of CSAH 154 from T.H. 55 to CSAH 9 until such time as CSAH 61 is constructed from T.H. 55 to CSAH 9. However, the County of Hennepin will not contribute any part to the cost of relocating and/or constructing any portion of existing CSAH 154 southerly of a point where 19nd Avenue North and CSAH 154 would intersect. 3. When the construction of CSAH 61 from T.H. 55 to CSAH 9 is completed, in accordance with Major Thoroughfare standards and geometrics, then CSAH 154 shall be revoked from the County road system and revert to the jurisdiction of the Village of Plymouth. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was ly seconded by Councilman Seibold, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Hilde, k1 Councilmen Hunt, Spaeth and Seibold.
