R ESOLUTION N O. 2020-081
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING THE P URCHASE OF S EVEN P OLICE P ATROL V EHICLES
WHEREAS, the approved 2020-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) identifies
funding from the Central Equipment Fund for the replacement of seven patrol vehicles; and
WHEREAS, all existing vehicles being replaced will either be sold at auction or re-
purposed for temporary staff use until sent to auction; and
WHEREAS, the City may purchase through the current State contract with Tenvoorde
Motor Co. (Contract # 158505) which meets the City’s specifications and purchasing policy
requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the purchase of seven new police patrol vehicles is approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the total cost of six new patrol vehicle chassis, purchased
through the State Contract # 158505 with Tenvoorde Motor Co., excluding set-up costs and tax, title and
license will not exceed $215,901.36. No sales tax will be due on these units.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the remaining interior built-out of the six new patrol vehicles and
the purchase of the seventh vehicle, in the fall of 2020, including interior build-out are authorized as
identified in the approved 2020-2029 CIP at a total cost not-to-exceed $380,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funding shall be from the Central Equipment Fund (600-70-760-
76001-8100.500) for all the above identified purchases in an amount not-to-exceed $380,000.
