Home My WebLink AboutCity Council Resolution 2020-035 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2020-035 R ESOLUTION A PPROVING P URCHASE OF O NE S INGLE A XLE D UMP T RUCK AND T WO T ANDEM A XLE D UMP T RUCKS W ITH S NOW/I CE C ONTROL R ELATED E QUIPMENT WHEREAS, the 2020-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and 2020 budget include the purchase of one replacement single axle dump truck and two tandem axle dump trucks with snow/ice control related equipment; and WHEREAS, the Central Equipment Fund reserves included the purchase of a replacement motor grader unit however replacement shall be with one tandem axle dump truck; and WHEREAS, the City may make purchases off of state contracts; and WHEREAS, Nuss Truck Group, dba Twin City Mack, has a contract with the State for these truck chassis meeting the City’s specifications, Contract No. 124649; and WHEREAS, Tow Master Inc. has a contract with the State for snow plow truck components and accessories meeting the City’s specifications, Contract No. 167105; and WHEREAS, the disposal of the existing assets; one motor grader, one single axle unit and one tandem axle unit, shall be through auction in 2021. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the purchase of one current model Single Axle Truck Chassis and two current model Tandem Axle Truck Chassis from Nuss Truck Group, and the related equipment to complete the trucks with hauling and snow plowing/ice control equipment from Towmaster Inc. is approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the amount due to Nuss Truck Group is $361,627.00 for the three trucks, sales tax due to the State at registration for the chassis is $23,505.77, and the amount due to Towmaster Inc. is $442,716.50 for the three trucks (no sales tax is due to Tow Master Inc.) for a total expenditure of $827,849.27 to purchase three complete trucks. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funding would come from Central Equipment Fund 600-70-760- 76001-8100.500 in the amount of $827,849.27. APPROVED by the City Council on this 28th day of January, 2020.
