HomeMy WebLinkAboutHousing & Redevelopment Authority Minutes 05-24-1976MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOUSING SAND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA May 24, 1976 A regular meeting of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 24th day of May, 1976, at 10:45 P.M. at the City Council Chambers in the City of Plymouth, Minnesota. All members of the Authority were present as follows: Chairman Hilde, Commissioners Hunt, Neils, Seibold and Spaeth. There were also present the following members of the City staff: Manager Willis, Planner Dillerud and Secretary Garrity. T -he Chairman read the call of the meeting. It was moved by Commissioner Seibold, seconded by Commissioner Hunt, to approve the minutes of the April 26 regular meeting as submitted. Motion carried, four ayes. Commisssioner Neils abstained. Chairman Hilde reported on Plymouth's deteriorating position with the staff of the Metropolitan Council and their recommendation that if we do not provide more low cost hou:;ing next year we would not receive our CDRS funds. He read his reply to John troland, Chairman of the Metro Council, and asked for comments. The membcrs of the Authority agreed with his comments. There was a discussion of the possibility of joining the Metro NRA for Section 8 housing only and the implications of filing our own application with HUD for Section 8 housing. It was moved by Commissioner Hunt, seconded by Commissioner Neils, to direct staff to proceed with setting up a Section 8 application with the intent that the City of Plymouth NRA will be its own sponsor for Section 8 programs to meet its 1975-76 housing assistance goals. Motion carried, five ayes. It was moved by Chairman Hilde, seconded by Commissioner Hunt, to direct staff to proceed aggressively to find sponsors at the earliest possible time for new and existing housing.
