HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2019-252 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2019-252 R ESOLUTION A WARDING B ID FOR THE N ORTHWEST G REENWAY T RAILHEAD B ID P ACKAGE O NE (PRK140005.191) WHEREAS, City Council authorized the advertisement of bids for the construction the Northwest Greenway (NWG) Trailhead Bid Package One on March 26, 2019 (PRK14005.191); and WHEREAS, Northwest Greenway Trailhead Bid Package One provides for the site work and grading, boardwalk/culvert, trails, and a north and south parking lot; and WHEREAS, pursuant to advertisement for bids for construction, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on July 29, 2019, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement; and COMPANY BID % Peterson Companies $1,153,064.32 -11.55% Meyer Contracting $1,341,712.45 2.92% New Look Contracting $1,562,409.90 19.85% C.S. McCrossan $1,679,503.30 28.83% Linnco $1,709,915.49 31.16% Veit & Company $1,782,991.00 36.77% Engineer’s Estimate $1,303,668.00 WHEREAS, Peterson Companies qualifications and work performance are compliant with the City’s Responsible Bidder Evaluation Policy, and based on bid amounts, staff and consultant recommend accepting Peterson Companies bid of $1,153,064.32; and WHEREAS, the Northwest Greenway Trailhead project is scheduled in the 2019 Capital Improvement Program for $2,500,000 utilizing Park Dedication Funds. Overall project costs for the Northwest Greenway Trailhead Package One are estimated at $1,400,000; and WHEREAS, the Northwest Greenway Trailhead Bid Package Two provides for the construction of the shelter, and is scheduled in the 2020 Capital Improvement Program at $1,900,000 utilizing Park Dedication Funds. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the Mayor and City Manager are directed to enter into contract with Peterson Companies for the construction of the Northwest Greenway Trailhead Bid Package One (PRK140005.191) for $1,153,064.32, and the funding source will be Park Dedication funds. APPROVED by the City Council on this 10th day of September, 2019.
