C ITY OF P LYMOUTH
R ESOLUTION N O. 2019-230
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING PURCHASE OF CISCO U NIFIED C OMPUTING S YSTEM
WHEREAS, the City has need to upgrade computer data server systems; and
WHEREAS, the City has planned for these upgrades through two projects identified in the CIP, IT-19-
002, budgeted at $80,000 in 2019 and 2021 and IT-19-004, budgeted at $32,000 in 2019 and 2021 for a total
budgeted cost of $224,000; and
WHEREAS, the CISCO Unified Computing System has been identified as the most cost efficient and
effective option; and
WHEREAS, completion of the project will streamline support demands by eliminating the complexity
of multiple models in the City’s production environment; and
WHEREAS, the project will also add compute resources to the City’s Disaster Recovery environment;
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the Information Technology Fund to accommodate this
purchase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that an expenditure of up to $196,257 from the information technology fund to purchase the
Cisco Unified Computing System from Insight is approved.
