City Council Special Meeting
July 23, 2019
Mayor Wosje called a Special Meeting of the Plymouth City Council to order at 5:00 p.m. in the
Medicine Lake Room of City Hall, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, on July 23, 2019.
COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Wosje, Councilmembers Prom, Carroll, Davis, Roehl, McGregor,
and Willis.
ABSENT: None.
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Callister, Administrative Services Director Hokkanen, Public
Safety Director Goldstein, Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation Northway, Parks and
Recreation Director Evans, Community Development Director Juetten, Recreation Supervisors
Koch, Fram, Anderson, and Pearson, Creek Center Manager Fleck, Recreation Manager Hemp,
Creek Center Supervisor Dehn, and City Clerk Engdahl.
Update on Plymouth Creek Center Renovation and Expansion Project
Victor Pechaty, from HGA, provided an update on the design renderings for the preferred design
(ribbon option).
Brad Barickman and Brian Recker from RJM, construction manager, discussed construction
costs of the project. Currently, the approximate cost of the project is a little over $50 million.
The majority of the Council suggested scaling back the project to $50 million. A discussion was
also held on the property tax levy impact. The Council requested staff to provide a more detailed
financial breakdown of the project.
Future Study Sessions
No future study sessions were scheduled.
Adjournment
Mayor Wosje adjourned the meeting at 7:00 p.m.
