R ESOLUTION N O. 2019-200
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING I MPLEMENTATION OF
THE B ODY W ORN C AMERA P OLICY AND
P URCHASE OF R ELATED T ECHNOLOGY P LATFORM
WHEREAS, the Police Department has completed its review process for a Body Worn program (BWC),
which commenced in 2017 and included several meetings before the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has complied with all statutory requirements regarding the
procurement, implementation and policy development for the BWC program including a public hearing
before the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is including the replacement purchases of its in-car camera system
and its mobile digital computers as part of this technology package; and
WHEREAS, the funding for the BWC along with the technology package have been allocated through
the City’s annual budget and CIP process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that implementation of the Body Worn Camera Policy and purchase of related technology
platform is approved and any future changes to the policy will be approved by the City Manager.
