1.Action Requested:
Council will give input, opinions, and reactions to HGA on building aesthetics as a way to inform
schematic design.
2.Background:
Based on design direction provided to date, HGA will present preliminary designs for the exterior
look/aesthetic of the building. Three distinct design options will be presented. Each option will be
named after its source of design inspiration: “River”, “Forest”, and “Pavilion”. The three options are
meant to facilitate conversation and seek input on the design.
Through a review of each option, the design team requests the Council share likes and dislikes and
pros and cons for each. The Council is not asked to make a decision on building aesthetics at this
meeting. Instead this meeting is a time to gather opinions and reactions as a way to inform
schematic design. Based on input received at this meeting, HGA will create a revised design that
consolidates input received.
