R ESOLUTION N O. 2019-142
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING THE P URCHASE OF S EVEN P OLICE P ATROL V EHICLES
WHEREAS, the approved 2019-2023 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) identifies
funding from the Central Equipment Budget for seven replacement patrol vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the current seven vehicles that are used for these purposes will either be
sold at auction or re-purposed for temporary staff use; and
WHEREAS, the City may purchase off either the current State contract or Sourcewell
(formally known as NJPA) Contract # 120716-NAF. Both of these contracts meet the City’s
specifications and purchasing policy requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the purchase of seven new police patrol vehicles is approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the total cost of seven new patrol vehicle chassis, purchased
either off the State contract or Sourcewell, excluding set-up costs will not exceed $276,591. No sales tax
will be due on these units.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funding shall be from the Central Equipment Budget (600-70-
760-76001-8100.500).
