R ESOLUTION N O. 2019-134
R ESOLUTION A WARDING THE C ONTRACT FOR THE 2020 M ILL AND O VERLAY P REVENTATIVE
M AINTENANCE – S TORM AND S ANITARY S EWER P ROJECT (ST209002)
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 2020 Mill and Overlay Preventative
Maintenance – Storm and Sanitary Sewer Project (ST209002), bids were received, opened, and
tabulated according to State Law, and the following bids were received complying with the
advertisement:
Contractor Total Schedule A & B
ASTECH, Corp. $1,115,971.50
New Look Contracting, Inc. $1,137,646.00
Klein Underground LLC $1,474,466.00
Midwest Asphalt Services $1,673,931.00
Engineers Estimate $1,079,557.50
WHEREAS, it appears that Asphalt Surface Technologies Corporation (ASTECH Corp.) of St.
Cloud, MN, is the lowest responsible bidder, complying with the minimum qualifications; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommends awarding the project to ASTECH, Corp. of St. Cloud,
MN.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA:
1. The appropriate City Officials are authorized and directed to enter into the contract for the
bid with ASTECH, Corp. of St. Cloud, MN, in the name of the City of Plymouth for the 2020
Mill and Overlay Preventative Maintenance – Storm and Sanitary Sewer Project (ST209002)
in the amount of $1,115,971.50.
2. The project shall include 5% for design, administration, and contingency in the amount of
$55,798.58 for a total project cost of $1,171,770.08.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that funding for this project shall be from the Street Reconstruction
Fund ($839,600.58) and the Sanitary Sewer Fund ($332,169.50).
APPROVED by the City Council on this 14th day of May, 2019.
