ACTION REQUESTED: Review applications for the Park and Recreation Advisory Commission (PRAC) and watershed management commissions. 2. BACKGROUND: Aaron Vanderwall who served as an at large member PRAC has submitted his resignation. His term expires January 31, 2021. John Byrnes who served as the alternate director on the Bassett Creek Watershed Management Commission submitted his resignation. His term expires January 31, 2020. Council has received applications from residents who are interested in these positions. 3. BUDGET IMPACT: N/A 4. ACTION REQUESTED: Select candidates to interview for the Ward 1 vacancy on April 16. 2. BACKGROUND: Councilmember Judy Johnson resigned from the Ward 1 seat effective March 6, 2019. Johnson’s term was slated to expire on December 31, 2020. The Plymouth City Charter provides that when a vacancy occurs, the Council shall adopt a resolution at its next regular meeting declaring the vacancy to exist. The Council must then appoint an eligible person to fill the vacancy until the next regular municipal election when the office is filled for the unexpired term. If the Council does not appoint an eligible person within 60 days, the Mayor shall appoint an eligible person to fill the vacancy. The City Council solicited applications for the position from March 12 to April 2, 2019. Sixteen applications were received. The City Council will meet on April 11 to select candidates for interviews on April 16. The names of the applicants are not public information until such time that they have accepted the interview request. 3. BUDGET IMPACT: N/A Page 1
