HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Minutes 02-26-2019 SpecialAdopted Minutes City Council Special Meeting February 26, 2019 Mayor Wosje called a Special Meeting of the Plymouth City Council to order at 5:30 p.m. in the Medicine Lake Room of City Hall, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, on February 26, 2019. COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Wosje, Councilmembers Prom, Johnson, Davis, Roehl, Carroll, and Willis. ABSENT: None. STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Callister, Administrative Services Director Hokkanen, Parks and Recreation Director Evans, Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation Northway, Public Works Director Thompson, Interim City Engineer Payne, Public Safety Director Goldstein, Community Development Director Juetten, and City Clerk Engdahl. County Road 47 and Other County Roads Public Works Director Thompson and Chad Larson, consultant from Kimley and Horn, provided a presentation on County Road 47 and other County roads. The following roadways were discussed: • CSAH 9/494 Interchange Project — In queue for construction in 2019 • County Road 47 Corridor — corridor study in progress in 2019 • CSAH 61/CSAH 6 intersection • CSAH 101 south of CSAH 6 • CSAH 6 west of CSAH 101 • CSAH 24 west of CSAH 101 • CSAH 73 realignment south of Highway 55 Staff stated the study is currently underway for the County Road 47 corridor, and they provided the proposed study timeline which includes open houses on March 7 and March 13, utilizing FlashVote, interactive feedback map, analyzing traffic, drainage, and concept layouts, and future Council study sessions. Mayor Wosje announced that Councilmember Johnson will be appointed to the Metropolitan Council on March 6. Therefore, she will be resigning from the Council and an appointment process will be announced in the near future. Adopted Minutes 1 of 2 Special Meeting of February 26, 2019 Future Study Sessions The following study sessions were scheduled: Quarterly City Manager's update following March 12 regular Council meeting April 9 at 5:00 p.m.: Interview architects for Plymouth Creek Center project April 23 at 5:00 p.m.: Discuss design of Plymouth Creek Center with architect and construction manager The following topics were added to the pending session list to be scheduled in the near future: • Citizen survey • Oversight of the watershed districts (financing of projects) —joint meeting with the Environmental Quality Committee • IOCP affordable workforce housing tour Adiournment Mayor Wosje adjourned the meeting at approxi tely 6:50 P.M. andra R.
