R ESOLUTION N O. 2019-036
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING C HANGE O RDER N O. 1 FOR THE
15 TH A VENUE AND H WY 55 U TILITY I MPROVEMENT (WR160003)
WHEREAS, a contract was awarded to Geislinger and Sons, Inc. on August 28, 2018 for the
construction of the 15th Avenue and Hwy 55 Utility Improvement; and
WHEREAS, changes were made during construction to the contract in the amount of
$118,840.60 as a part of Change Order No. 1 that includes:
Abandoning the pipe crossing underneath Hwy 55 by using grout instead of sand.
Open cut installation of 48” HOBAS pipe in place of slip lining the existing 54”
corrugated metal pipe.
Installing a new sanitary sewer manhole inside the existing sanitary sewer manhole
instead of removing and replacing the existing manhole.
Lining the existing sanitary sewer pipe crossing under Hwy 55 with a cured in place pipe
(CIPP) instead of pipe bursting a new pipe.
Removal of obstacles that required extra effort during pipe jacking a new storm sewer
crossing under Hwy 55.
WHEREAS, the City’s engineer for the project, WSB & Associates, performed additional work
outside the scope of their proposal in the amount of $37,900.00 as a result of Change Order No. 1 that
includes:
Additional three weeks of inspection services and administration as a result of the
lengthened project schedule.
Additional design of alternatives detailed in Change Order No. 1 and review of
submittals.
Additional coordination with UP Railroad.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that Change Order No. 1 in the total amount of $156,740.60 is approved.
