The following members were absent: Councilman Neils Councilman Hunt introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: f RESOLUTION 40. 72-530 3 WHEREAS, Section 3 of the Village of Plymouth Personnel Policy provides for the adoption of a Compensation Plan for Village employees, and WHEREAS, the Village Manager has prepared a 1973 Compensation Plan for 1 i position classifications in the General Services, which plan provides for the assignment of classes to pay grades, the number of steps in each grade, the ii monthly rates in each grade, and the method of normal progression through the pay grades, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL Or THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH that the following Compensation Plan be hereby established for the year 1973, which plan is to be effective on the first day of the pay period closest to January 1, 1973, and subject to the provisions of the Village Personnel Policy. NORMAL PROGRESSION THROUGH GRADES Step merit increases within pay grades shall not be considered automatic. rather shall be dependent upon the recommendation of the appropriate supervisor and department head concerned, and approved ii by the Manager. Employee performance reviews shall be scheduled periodically by the supervisor and department head. Following !i such reviews the employee may be considered for a merit increase. The pay schedule is by no means a seniority plan calling for auto- matic pay increases based upon time in grade. If it is clear that the level of competency varies from one employee to another, it is equally clear that deserving and efficient employees should be awarded merit increases. Also, such Increases should be withheld from employees whose service is not wholly satisfactory. When an employee reaches his maximum rate, he should not expect further pay increases unless (1) his position is re -allocated, (2) he is promoted to a higher classification, or (3) a general in- crease is granted to employees of his class. i' GENERAL COMPENSATION PLAN (MONTHLY RATES) GRADE A B C D E G1 377 396 416 437 459 G2 396 416 437 459 482 G3 416 437 459 482 506 G4 437 459 482 506 531 G5 459 482 506 531 557 G6 482 506 531 557 585 G7 506 531 557 585 615 G8 531 557 585 615 645 G9 ii 1. 557 585 615 645 678 GRADE A B G10 585 615 G11 615 645 G12 645 678 G13 678 712 f G14 712 747 G15 747 784 G16 784 824 G17 824 865 G18 865 908 G19 908 953 G20 953 1001 ji G21 1001 1051 G22 1051 1104 1 G23 1104 1159 i G24 1159 i 1217 GRADE ASSIGNMENTS i i POSITION CLA^SIFICATION Clerk -Typist I Accounting Clerk I Clerk -Typist II Receptionist Secretary I f Accounting Clerk II Secretary II Accounting Clerk III Secretary to Village Manager Village Clerk Engineering Aide - Draftsman Appraiser I Accountant Assistant to Village Engineer Appraiser II i!
