HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1972-415VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 6th day of Novewber, 1972. The following members were present: Mayor Hilde, Councilmen Spaeth, Seibold, and Neils. The following member was absent: Councilman !aunt. *tt Councilman Spaeth introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 72-415 WHEREAS, Alvin Pietig and A. J. Poppelaars have requested rezoning of Lots 20 and 21, Block 2 of Ivanhoe Woods from R-1 Single Family Resi- dential to R-2 Two Fam " y Residential District, and WHEREAS, the Village Planning Commission has reviewed said request and recommends denial, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH that the request of Alvin Pietig and A. J. Poppelaars for rezoning from R-1 Single Family Residential to R-2 Two Family Residential District be denied because of the following reasons: 1) The proposed change is not compatible with established land use patterns inasmuch as single family homes adjoin the petitioner's property on three sides; 2) The basic land use conditions in this area have remained unchanged since the adoption of the Zoning Ordinance. and consequently no need for change in zoning is contemplated; 3) The change could be construed as a granting of a special privilege to an individual as contrasted to the general welfare; 4) Theproperty can be used in accordance with existing zoning regulations; 5) Previous course of action has been to deny all multiple zoning requests to the west of Quaker Lane. The motion for t'.,e adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Neils, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Hilde, Councilmen Spaeth, Seibold, and Neils. The following voted against: None. Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF HEN NEPIN SS.
