R ESOLUTION N O. 2018-367
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING J OINT P OWERS A GREEMENT WITH THE
C ITY OF M INNEAPOLIS FOR THE 2019 NCAA F INAL F OUR AND R ELATED A CTIVITIES
WHEREAS, the 2019 NCAA Final Four will be held in the City of Minneapolis on April 8, 2019; and
WHEREAS, in addition to the NCAA Final Four, other related activities will occur in the City of
Minneapolis from April 4, 2019 through April 8, 2019; and
WHEREAS, the City of Minneapolis procuring additional law enforcement personnel is a
necessity to provide public safety and security measures required for such a large and unique event; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has the ability to provide 14 police officers to assist with these
events; and
WHEREAS, approval of a Joint Powers Agreement between the cities of Minneapolis and
Plymouth is required in order to utilize police officers from Plymouth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the Joint Powers Agreement between the cities of Minneapolis and Plymouth for the
2019 NCAA Final Four and related activities is approved and the Mayor and City Manager are authorized
to sign the agreement.
